Scan to PDF
Photograph paper documents with your phone and get a clean, scanner-like PDF: upright, white paper, sharp black text.

JPG, PNG, WebP images — add several; they're combined in the order listed
Processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
You don't need a scanner to send a signed form, a receipt or a handwritten page as a proper PDF. Take a photo with your phone — or pick photos you already have — and Scan to PDF turns them upright, pushes the paper to white and the ink to black, and puts each page on an A4 or Letter sheet, ready to email or upload. Everything happens on your phone; the photos aren't uploaded.
How to scan to pdf
- 1. Tap Take a photo for each page (or drop in photos you already have).
- 2. Put the pages in order with the arrows and rotate any that need it; choose Black & white document or Colour.
- 3. Tap Scan to PDF and download scan.pdf.
When to use Scan to PDF
Send a signed form
Sign the paper copy, photograph it, and send a clean PDF the other side can read and print — no scanner, no app to install.
Expenses and receipts
Photograph a pile of receipts, one per page, and submit a single tidy PDF with your expense report.
Homework and handwritten notes
Teachers and universities often want one PDF: photograph each page and hand it in as a single document.
Getting a photo that scans well
Lay the page on a flat, dark surface so its edges stand out, and shoot from straight above rather than at an angle. Daylight from a window works better than a ceiling lamp, which casts your shadow onto the page — and turn the flash off, because it leaves a bright spot in the middle. Fill most of the frame with the page; the tool doesn't straighten perspective, so a slanted photo stays slanted.
Black & white or colour?
Black & white document mode converts the photo to greyscale and stretches the tones so the paper becomes white and the text dark: the result looks like a scan, is easy to read and prints well. Signatures, stamps and pencil stay visible. Use Colour for documents where colour matters — a coloured form, a drawing, a photo ID — it brightens the paper but keeps the colours.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Take a photo opens the camera in Safari and Chrome. On a computer it lets you pick image files instead.
How big is the PDF?
Each page is stored at about 190 dpi on A4 as a compressed image, typically a few hundred KB per page — small enough for email. Run Compress PDF if a portal needs it smaller.
Can I make the text searchable?
Yes: run the finished PDF through OCR PDF to add a text layer you can search and copy.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The photos are processed on your device and the PDF is created there.
