Merge PDF

Combine multiple PDF files into one document in seconds. Free, fast, and 100% private — your files never leave your browser.

Processed locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Merging is usually the last step before you send something official: a scanned ID plus a signed form, three quarterly reports that belong in one file, or a cover letter and CV that a portal only lets you upload once. AXS PDF stitches the files together in the exact order you arrange them and writes a single, clean PDF — no re-compression, no quality loss, and nothing leaves your device.

How to merge pdf

  1. 1. Drop in every PDF you want to combine — add them all at once or a few at a time.
  2. 2. Drag the files into the order you want; the top file becomes page 1.
  3. 3. Click Merge PDF and download the combined document.

When to use Merge PDF

One-file application packets

Job boards, university portals and grant systems often accept a single attachment. Merge your CV, cover letter and certificates so the whole packet arrives in the right order.

Expense and receipt bundles

Combine a month of scanned receipts into one PDF that matches a single expense report line, instead of emailing finance a dozen separate files.

Reassembling a split document

If a contract or report reached you in chapters, merge the parts back into one continuous file before archiving or printing it.

Order matters more than you think

Merging never changes the pages inside each file — it only decides which file follows which. Arrange them before you hit merge: reordering afterwards means splitting and merging again. If a file is upside down or needs a page removed, fix it first with Rotate PDF or Remove Pages, then merge.

Frequently asked questions

Can I reorder the files before merging?

Yes. Drag each file up or down in the list; the order you see is the order they'll appear in the final PDF.

Is there a limit to how many PDFs I can combine?

There's no fixed cap. Because everything runs in your browser, the practical limit is your device's memory — dozens of everyday documents merge without trouble.

Does merging reduce the quality of my pages?

No. Pages are copied as-is into the new file, so text stays sharp and images keep their original resolution. The file size is roughly the sum of the originals.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Unlock them first with the Unlock PDF tool, then merge. An encrypted file can't be combined until the password is removed.
