PDF vs Word
PDF and Word documents solve different problems. One is for sharing a finished document, the other for writing and editing it.
| Word | ||
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Sharing & printing a final version | Writing & editing |
| Looks the same everywhere | Yes | Not always |
| Easy to edit | No | Yes |
| File type | .docx | |
| Good for forms & signatures | Yes | Limited |
Which should you use?
Write and edit in Word, then export to PDF when the document is final and you want it to look identical for everyone. If you receive a PDF you need to change, convert it to Word first.
